| Herbal Strength: | This is a 20:1 strength German Chamomile powder extracted into a glycerin base at approx. 1%. |
| Dose Rate: | Chamomile extract is generally regarded as safe but there are a few people who have experienced skin reactions to chamomile extract and as such we recommend patch testing before use. Typical concentrations of extract in a skin care product would be between 0.2-10%. |
| Action: | The main soothing active in chamomile is extracted in the oil (bisabolol) however, there are a range of additional flavones that contribute to the soothing effect that are found in the dried flower including flavone glycosides (apigenin-7 glucoside), Flavonols (quercetin glycosides and luteolin glycosides). |
| Useage rate: | A dose rate of between 0.1-3% in your product is appropriate for a gentle soothing action. You can use up to 5% for a stronger action but be aware of the potential for skin irritation at higher rates. |
