| Background Information: | Historically Chia was the staple grain of the Aztecs and as such has a long history of use in both food and the medicine of this ancient people. Today Chia is loved for its health benefits and now those benefits can also be applied to beauty. Aztec doctors would prescribe seeds to relieve joint pain and skin conditioner. Chia is also a great source of the Amino Acid Lysine and the antioxidant Quercetin although these are found mostly in the water fraction of the plant. |
